Story
​Establishing ourselves post-pandemic in 2022, On the Rocks quickly became the place to be for the locals of Cheddar, Somerset. Based in the heart of cheddar's beautiful gorge, or "on the rocks", our bar aims to create a sense of holiday paradise right on your doorsteps.​From our enticing premium specials to unique shooters, wide range of cocktails to our vast range of spirits from around the world, we have everything you need to have a great night out, whether with family, friends or a quiet night out with your partner. We’re dedicated to making sure your time with us is unlike anything else you’ve experienced. Our uniquely selected team, from all walks of life, are trained to not only curated a list of drinks that leave your mouth begging for more, but to also entertain you all night long. The derelict pub, previously known as the Galleries Inn, was renovated into the Cocktail bar you see today. Bringing the youth and sophistication of city life to the little village of cheddar, with its quirky interior and wide range of drinks... This little sun trap brings the holiday vibes to you.
Do you serve food..?
We don't currently serve food here at On the Rocks, we aim to dedicate all our efforts into providing amazing cocktails and entertainment.
However, we do have a BYO food policy. Here at On the Rocks, you are more than welcome to bring your own food and eat it in our outside areas. As long as you buy your drinks from us and tidy up any food mess after yourselves.
But just be aware, we have no cutlery or dinnerware to provide as we aren't a food venue.
Do you only serve cocktails...?
Although we do specialise in cocktails, and we are a cocktail bar, this isn't all that we offer. We have an extensive range of spirits, from whiskeys to gins, and a selection of Champagnes, prosecco and wines.
Here at On the Rocks, we have a wide range of soft and non-alcoholic drinks on offer, including hot drinks at certain times of the day.
We also have 10 products on draft, including Guinness, Cider, lagers and IPA/Keg Ale.
Are children and pets allowed..?
As a venue, we do cater specifically for adults. However, on Sundays to Thursdays children are welcome til 8pm, and Fridays until 7pm. Children would however have to stay sat with their families, and be supervised at all times. However, Most Saturdays, due to our karaoke afternoons, children aren't permitted after 3pm. This is due to the "club like" environment we create, which isn't child appropriate.
Regarding pets, they are welcome in the outside areas. However, they must remain on leads or in carriers and securely with their families for the duration of their visit. Both our policies regarding Children and Pets are to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our guests.

The policies regarding Children and Dogs do change seasonally, or even when special events are held, so please email in advance or check with a manager at the bar on the day.
Entertainment, events and more...
Here at On the Rocks cocktail bar, we aim to provide something for everyone. From Live performances to Karaoke, to Comedy nights and drag shows. We also have a karaoke room for hire and offer Cocktail masterclasses for group events or functions.

Please note...
Here at On the Rocks cocktail bar, we aim to make everyone's night wonderful.
However, smoking, E-cigarettes and vaping is only permitted in the outside areas. We do reserve the right to ask anyone to leave our venue if this policy is continuously violated.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or service to any individual or group who are too intoxicated or who's behaviour isn't acceptable.
Unfortunate that we have to say this but, please be kind. Our staff work to their highest abilities, sacrificing time with their friends and families, working long undesirable hours because they enjoying making our guests visits fun and memorable. We do not tolerate abuse towards any of our staff, and you will be asked to leave if you do so.
